You Should Know

  • By using Dock AMP, you agree to these terms.
  • Our guides are information, not professional electrical advice. Work on your boat at your own risk.
  • Purchases happen on Amazon or other retailers, under their terms, not ours.

1. Agreement

These Terms and Conditions apply to your use of dockamp.com (“Dock AMP”, “we”, “us”). By using the site, you agree to them, together with our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Disclaimer and Affiliate Disclosure. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Who can use Dock AMP

You must be at least 13 years old to use the site. If you are under 18, please use it with a parent or guardian’s permission. Buying products through retailers is subject to their own age rules.

3. Information only

Our content is general information about marine electrical systems. It is not professional advice and does not replace a qualified marine electrician, the manufacturer’s instructions or applicable standards. Please read our Disclaimer, especially the electrical safety section.

4. Our content and your licence to use it

All text, tables, graphics and the Dock AMP name and design belong to Dock AMP or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. We give you a personal, non-commercial, revocable licence to read our pages, print a guide for your own use, and share links. You may quote short excerpts if you credit Dock AMP and link to the original page.

Anything beyond that, including copying, republishing or using our content to train AI models, needs our written permission. Full rules are in our Terms of Use.

5. Affiliate links and third-party sites

Many guides link to Amazon and other sites. Any purchase is a contract between you and that retailer. Prices, stock, shipping, returns and warranties are handled by the retailer and the manufacturer, not Dock AMP. We are not responsible for third-party sites or their content. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains how we earn commissions.

6. Comments and user content

If comments are open, you keep ownership of what you post, but you give Dock AMP a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, edit for length or clarity, and remove it. Please keep comments on topic and respectful. We remove spam, self-promotion, illegal content, harassment and unsafe electrical advice. We may moderate or close comments at any time.

7. No warranties

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Dock AMP is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for damage to property, equipment or batteries, arising from your use of the site or from acting on its content. Our total liability for any claim is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100). Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

9. Indemnity

You agree to cover Dock AMP against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) caused by your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled by the state or federal courts located in California. This does not remove any consumer rights you have under the laws of the country where you live.

11. Changes and termination

We may update these terms, change the site or stop offering any part of it. The date at the top shows the current version, and continuing to use the site means you accept the changes. We may block access for anyone who breaks these terms.

12. General

If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies. These terms, with the policies linked above, are the entire agreement between you and Dock AMP about the site. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it.
